Code of Conduct for the participants of Sequence to Synapse

Purpose

This workshop is held at a mental health institute, and it is essential to maintain respect, sensitivity, and discipline at all times. This Code of Conduct ensures a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment for participants, staff, and patients.


Expected Behavior

All participants are expected to:

  • Be Respectful
    Treat fellow students, faculty, staff, and patients with kindness and respect, regardless of background or experience. Use polite and inclusive language.

  • Maintain Discipline and Decorum
    Speak softly and behave professionally. Avoid loud conversations, jokes, or actions that may disturb others within the institute.

  • Be Attentive and Engaged
    Pay attention during sessions. Keep mobile phones on silent mode. Avoid side conversations, phone usage, or unrelated activities during talks and hands-on sessions.

  • Be Punctual and Prepared
    Arrive on time for all sessions and follow the workshop schedule. Bring required materials and be ready to participate.


Prohibited Behavior

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind.
  • Sharing personal, clinical, or confidential information related to the institute, patients, or participants.
  • Photography, videography, or recording in areas where patients are present or receive care.
  • Taking photos or videos anywhere on campus without prior permission from the organizers.
  • Use of alcohol, drugs, smoking, or vaping anywhere on the institute premises.
  • Any behavior that may disturb patients or compromise the institute’s therapeutic environment.

Reporting and Consequences

  • Report any inappropriate behavior or violations to the organizers immediately.
  • Organizers will take appropriate action, which may include a warning, removal from the workshop, or restriction from future events.
  • Serious violations may be escalated to institute authorities or security.
